An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Paraplanner to join a highly respected Independent Financial Advisory firm based in Godalming. Established for over 20 years, this successful wealth management practice has built a strong reputation for delivering comprehensive financial planning advice to families, retirees, professionals and high-net-worth individuals across Surrey, Hampshire and London.
The firm has experienced a particularly strong period of growth over the past 12 months, generating significant levels of new business and creating the need for an additional Senior Paraplanner to support their growing team of advisers.
This is a well-established and collaborative business with an experienced team of Financial Advisers, Mortgage Advisers and support staff, providing an excellent environment for an ambitious paraplanner looking to further develop their technical expertise and career.
The Opportunity
Working closely with a team of experienced advisers, you will be responsible for providing end-to-end paraplanning support across a broad range of financial planning areas.
You will be involved in:
• Conducting technical research and analysis across financial planning cases
• Preparing detailed suitability reports and recommendations
• Supporting advice relating to pensions, investments and retirement planning
• Assisting with tax planning and inheritance tax strategies
• Carrying out product and provider research
• Producing cashflow modelling reports and financial planning projections
• Liaising with advisers and administrators to ensure efficient case progression
• Supporting clients with increasingly complex financial planning requirements
The client base is predominantly made up of affluent and high-net-worth individuals, with investable assets typically ranging from £100,000 to over £1 million, alongside a number of families holding assets in excess of £2 million. The business also benefits from longstanding relationships with professional sports organisations, generating a consistent flow of new client opportunities.
Requirements
• Previous experience within a Paraplanning role
• Diploma qualified, working towards completion, or qualified through experience
• Strong knowledge of pensions, investments, retirement planning, tax planning and inheritance tax planning
• Experience writing suitability reports independently
• Excellent technical and analytical skills
• Strong communication and organisational abilities
• Experience using Voyant cashflow modelling would be highly advantageous
