The base salary range represents a good‑faith salary range for this position. This position is eligible for annual incentive pay and has the opportunity for continued salary growth. If you are hired at American Water your base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as market, geography, skills, education and/or experience. Responsible for organizing and performing advanced functions and activities related to ensuring that our wastewater facilities are in compliance with the monitoring and reporting requirements of Illinois EPA. Primary focus is on compliance with the influent and effluent limitations, monitoring, and reporting.

• Manage monitoring and reporting programs to ensure compliance with federal and state wastewater regulations.
• Prepare, review, and maintain monitoring schedules.
• Ensure compliance samples are collected within appropriate time frames.
• Track compliance with the limits outlined in the NPDES permit.
• Ensure accuracy of results reporting.
• Be a liaison between IL Water Quality staff and the labs we use to analyze our samples.
• Support IL Water Quality by being a resource for wastewater compliance information, training, and troubleshooting.
• Assist with drinking water compliance tasks as needed.
• Track Special Conditions sampling requirements.

• Knowledge of federal and state wastewater standards and regulations, wastewater treatment processes, and analytical testing principles is preferred.
• Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office.
