Asbury Village is recruiting for a part-time Activities Assistant. This role will be under 20 hours a week. In this role you will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating meaningful activities appropriate to the needs and interests of residents and conducive to their physical, mental and social well‑being.
Responsibilities- Assists with planning, coordinating activities: workout classes, current events, discussion groups, sensory stimulation, cultural activities, religious services, special entertainment, outside trips, special events and one‑to‑one visits, as indicated.
- Assists with distributing the monthly calendar and newsletter.
- Assists with purchasing supplies for activities as needed.
- Performs and directs the movement of residents to and from recreational areas.
- Maintains accurate documentation of resident’s activity attendance.
- Plans and coordinates activities in the absence of the Director of Resident Services.
- Attends in‑service training and education sessions, as assigned.

High School degree required. One year experience in a social or recreational program is preferred in a licensed health care setting. Background or interest in music, art, drama, and dance therapy preferred.
Physical Requirements / Working ConditionsFrequent standing, stooping, bending, stretching, squatting for approximately 60% of work day. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. occasionally. Must be able to push residents weighting up to 250 lbs in a wheelchair. Must be able to read and speak English, hear, and be able to sit and walk intermittently throughout the day. May be exposed to communicable diseases, HIV and Hepatitis B viruses, industrial and household chemicals, offensive odors and combative behavior.
