Furnace Operator - 2nd shift

Production Operator Responsibilities

• The ideal candidate for this position will be comfortable working with machinery and performing daily maintenance and repairs.
• Load and unload setups, breakdowns, and operating equipment, able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment.
• Operate related equipment, such as cranes, forklifts, and power tools when required.
• Follow written specifications.
• Maintain accurate logs and monitor equipment to ensure it is producing the proper output.
• Perform housekeeping duties to ensure a safe and clean workplace.
• Use personal protective equipment as required by the job, including but not limited to safety vest, gloves, and eye protection.

• Basic knowledge of mechanical practices and ideas.
• Experience/knowledge in a manufacturing setting and operating equipment is preferred.
• Basic understanding of the heat treat process, 5S, safety and quality policies and procedures.
• Ability to operate a computer.
• Basic understanding of how to make a minor mechanical or quality adjustment while operating the equipment and the ability to locate resources to help with advanced issues.

• Stand for 7.5 hours.
• Climb/lift self onto forklift many times a day.
• Lift 50 pounds occasionally.
• Lift up to 25 pounds repeatedly for 7.5 hours a day.
• Climb ladders up to 6’ tall.
• Push/pull using rakes/tools.
• Pull cart up to 150 pounds for 150’.
• Clean with push broom and shovel.
• Lift shovel with up to 15-20 pounds.
• Bend over to inspect tubs, pick up parts on floor.
• Work in elevated temperatures up to 120 F for periods up to 15 minutes.
• Perform quench inspection of 2-3 parts per hour handling up to 50 pounds per part.
