Project Manager/Engineer - Water/Wastewater
Join WSB to apply for the Project Manager/Engineer role in Water/Wastewater. Base pay range: $90,000 - $140,000 per year.
What You Will Do:
- Lead project management and process design for new water/wastewater treatment facilities, lift stations, and review existing facilities. Prepare reports for proposed equipment/systems upgrades and replacements, and present findings to clients and regulatory agencies.
- Conduct business development and develop client relationships in the water/wastewater industry.
- Independently evaluate, select, and apply various treatment technologies, equipment, and processes to optimize performance or ensure compliance with environmental regulations, and apply the results to plant configurations.
- Develop specifications and drawings such as process flow diagrams (PFDs) and process & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) for senior drafting technicians.
- Assess impact of changing DOH, EPA and MPCA regulations for specific client needs. Travel to client and vendor locations for design reviews, field verification of designs, proposal presentations, and business development activities.

- Strong understanding of the construction industry, especially construction materials testing and special inspection services.
- Interest in project management – tracking scope, schedule, quality, and budget.
- Interest in business development – identifying, attracting, and securing a new, diverse client base.
What You Will Bring:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in water and/or wastewater engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of water or wastewater engineering project management experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- A current Minnesota PE license or ability to obtain one within 6 months.
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to work at various locations.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrains associated with construction projects.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Experience in some or most of the following technical areas:
- Wastewater treatment process design.
- Water treatment process design.
- Well and pump house design.
- Water storage.
- Biological nutrient removal.
- Biosolids stabilization and processing.
- Pilot testing and process modeling.
- Advanced oxidation.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- Proven business development experience.
- Experience mentoring and developing staff.
