Description
As a Transfer Car
Operator with Liberty Packaging
, you will contribute to the growth of our business by being a key player in safely moving goods and materials around a high traffic industrial environment. As a Transfer Car Operator you will help maximize efficiency of the production process by safely operating mobile equipment to move roll stock from train cars and/or trucks, manage raw materials, accurately scanning inventory in and out of the business, and safely stock rolls according to procedure.
This full-time position reports directly to a Corrugator Supervisor at our Liberty Packaging location in Golden Valley, Minnesota.
- Safely operate mobile equipment such as clamp truck, forklifts, lift trucks, hoists, or other material handling equipment in a high traffic industrial environment
- Accurately utilize an electronic scanning system to include a touch screen monitor located on the forklift, to track inventory levels and product location
- Responsible for regularly completing pre-operation inspection and reporting equipment faults or damages to leadership or maintenance
- Move roll stock from train cars and/or trucks, manage raw materials, accurately scanning inventory in and out of the business, and safely stock rolls according to procedure.
- Follow safety regulations and company guidelines
- Other duties, as assigned
- High School diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution or comparable experience in place of education.
- 2+ years experience operating mobile equipment
- Previous experience with a computer using skills such as typing, printing and data entry
- Ability to use math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Ability to read work instructions to identify detailed steps for order completion
- Must be available to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required
- Previous roll clamp truck operation
- Ability to learn and perform multiple tasks
- Knowledge of distribution documentation: pick lists, packing slips, and bills of lading
- Knowledge of warehouse organization, workflow as well as basic inventory control (I.e.: Amtech)
- Previous experience with reading a tape measure
The starting pay rate for this position is $25.97 per hour plus hourly shift differential pay.

- Must be able to work in crowded spaces for 4+ hours per shift
- Must be able to bend and stoop for 7+ hours per shift
- Must be able to stand for 6+ hours per shift
- Must be able to walk for 6+ hours per shift
- Must be able to reach and grasp up to 6+ hours per shift
