Make Used Machines Run Like New Picture your day: you clock in, review the rebuild queue, and roll a used Tennant unit into your bay. After a systematic teardown, you diagnose electrical, hydraulic, and engine systems, order what’s needed, and begin the careful reassembly. You check quality at each step, document your findings, keep your work area tight and orderly, and take pride when the machine leaves your station performing like new—on time and on target.

What you’ll take on

• Disassemble, recondition, and reassemble complex Tennant products using sound judgment.
• Teardown and rebuild a variety of used Tennant equipment from frame to finish.
• Build product knowledge through self-study, hands-on practice, and guidance from the Shop Supervisor.
• Support every stage of the reconditioning process to deliver a quality result.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems; diagnose battery, air- and water-cooled combustion engines; resolve diesel/gas/LP engine issues across the Tennant lineup.
• Use, maintain, and report on Tennant Company tools and equipment responsibly and safely.
• Meet schedule commitments while exercising judgment to hit quality and cost goals for each machine.
• Perform in-process quality checks and communicate results clearly.
• Identify, document, and elevate safety concerns.
• Fine-tune systems and settings to achieve final build quality.
• Maintain 5S standards; keep the shop clean, safe, and organized.
• Spot opportunities for continuous improvement and raise them through the tier structure.
• Operate across multiple sub‑assembly operations and short‑cycle main line stations.
• Uphold a professional image—in personal appearance and care of company equipment.
• Arrive reliably and on time; dependable transportation is essential.

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• 3+ years diagnosing and repairing mobile equipment.
• Proven ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Safe use of hand/power tools, shop equipment, and diagnostic devices.
• Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical assembly practices.
• History of continuous improvement in prior roles; related manufacturing experience preferred.

• Routinely lift up to 40 lbs (most items 2–20 lbs); occasionally up to 90 lbs with assistance for items over 60 lbs.
• Work in multiple positions throughout the shift.
• Sit, stand, twist, reach, push, and pull as part of daily work.
• Bend, stoop, kneel, or squat regularly (up to 30% of the day).
• Medically capable of performing all job aspects with maximum safety.

• Regular work near moving mechanical parts.
• Occasional exposure to heat and non‑toxic fumes.
• Moderate noise levels.
• Occasional exposure to oil, grease, gasoline, dust, metal particles, and sharp materials.

• Safety glasses, steel‑toed shoes, and hearing protection required.
