Child Sponsorship and Service Team Coordinator

Position Summary
The Child Sponsorship & Service Team Coordinator strengthens and supports two of the most important pillars of The GOD’S CHILD Project: individual child sponsorship and hands-on volunteer service. This role manages sponsor communication and stewardship, supports accurate and compelling child updates, assists with recruitment and coordination of Service Teams, and ensures a high-quality experience for those who engage directly with our mission.
This is a relationship-driven, detail-oriented position ideal for someone who thrives in a nonprofit environment and enjoys meaningful connection with donors, volunteers, and partner communities.
Key Responsibilities- Child Sponsorship Program (Approximately 45%)
- Maintain accurate sponsorship records and child profiles within the CRM/database.
- Serve as a warm, reliable point of contact for child sponsors via email, phone, and mail.
- Coordinate the collection and distribution of child updates, letters, photos, and stories from field staff.
- Ensure new sponsors receive onboarding materials, welcome packets, and timely communications.
- Support donor retention by managing renewal reminders, payment follow-ups, and re-engagement efforts.
- Assist with sponsorship marketing, including storytelling and content for newsletters, social media, and donor communications.
- Collaborate with program teams to streamline sponsorship processes and ensure consistent data quality.
- Service Team Coordination (Approximately 45%)
- Serve as the main point of contact for U.S.
-based volunteers and groups preparing to travel to Guatemala. - Respond to inquiries, guide prospective volunteers through requirements, and provide pre-trip support.
- Manage forms, waivers, applications, background checks, and required documentation.
- Maintain communication with the Guatemala office on scheduling, lodging, projects, and service activities.
- Track upcoming teams, maintain calendars, and ensure teams are fully informed before departure.
- Assist with outreach and marketing to recruit new Service Teams and strengthen long-term relationships.
- Support post-trip stewardship, feedback collection, and follow-up communications.
- Serve as the main point of contact for U.S.
- General Administrative & Organizational Support (Approximately 10%)
- Answer phones, greet visitors, and assist walk-in donors and volunteers at the Golden Valley office.
- Support nonprofit operations, mailings, events, and cross-functional tasks as assigned.
- Maintain a positive, mission-centered presence representing The GOD’S CHILD Project.
- Full-time position based in the Golden Valley, MN office.
