Colorado School of Mines is seeking a detail‑oriented and proactive Administrative Assistant III to support the dynamic Economics and Business Department. This full‑time, on‑campus role (40 hours per week) is perfect for someone who thrives in a collaborative academic environment and enjoys keeping operations running smoothly.
What You’ll Do:As a key member of our team, you’ll provide comprehensive clerical and administrative support, ensuring the department functions efficiently. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing administrative files and confidential databases (including Workday)
- Handling phone calls, directing inquiries, and providing accurate information
- Processing incoming mail and routing documents
- Logging and processing faculty and student forms
- Coordinating logistics for departmental events
- Processing payment requests and tracking financial transactions
- Managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and taking detailed minutes
- Monitoring accounts and providing general administrative support
- Maintaining and updating department websites
- Creating engaging communication and marketing materials for events

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT III
Experience Only:
- Three (3) years of administrative experience which included front desk reception, records management, event management/coordination and basic technical accounting/bookkeeping responsibility. (Experience must be clearly documented in the "Work History" section of your application. "See Resume" will not be accepted.)
OR
Education and Experience:
A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to three (3) years. (TRANSCRIPTS MUST BE ATTACHED FOR EDUCATIONAL CREDIT.)
- Proficiency with spreadsheet and word processing software (i.e. Word and Excel).
- Daily interaction with students, staff and faculty require this position to possess strong interpersonal and customer service skills and the ability to establish rapport with people of diverse backgrounds.
- Must have excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, make decisions independently and provide on‑the‑spot answers to administrative questions that arise.
- Must have excellent judgment and discretion and be able to work confidentially with sensitive and protected information.
