Position OverviewThis is a skilled position involving the safe and efficient operation of a crusher and other various types of construction equipment including but not limited to roller, motor grader, excavator, loader, water truck, etc.
Pay ranges from $28 to $32 an hour, based on experience.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperate heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Perform daily safety and maintenance checks on all equipment prior to use.
Report any issues or concerns with equipment to supervisor immediately.
Load and unload materials onto/from trucks, trailers, and other vehicles using various types of machinery.
Backfill excavations and compact soil using heavy equipment.
Assist in the construction of buildings, roads, bridges, and other.
Knowledge of aggregate sizes and classifications.
Knowledge of weight requirements of loads leaving the pit.
Travel from interstate highway to rural dirt roads from various locations.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education / ExperienceHigh School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
2-5 years previous experience is required.
Knowledge of earth moving and earth moving equipment is required.
Work RequirementsMust be 18 years in age or older.
Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
Must have standard driver’s license.
Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
Must be willing to work nights and weekends, when necessary.
Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and productions areas as stated by OSHA and MSHA.
Compliance with all OSHA and/or MSHA regulations.
Knowledge / Skill RequirementsKnowledge of aggregate sizes and classifications.
Knowledge of trenching and shoring standards.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions from supervisors to complete assigned tasks.
Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently under a variety of working conditions.
