Facilities Engineering Co-op — We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented engineering co-op to support our facility team in ceramics manufacturing. This role offers hands-on experience in both facility management and process engineering, with a focus on optimizing ceramic production processes, improving equipment reliability, and supporting Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives.
- Support maintenance planning and reliability engineering for critical manufacturing equipment.
- Help maintain facility documentation, including equipment layouts, utility drawings, and maintenance records using AutoCAD.
- Develop and implement predictive, preventive, and reliability-centered maintenance programs for facility systems.
- Participate in facility upgrades, including HVAC, compressed air, dust collection, and facility cooling systems.
- Coordinate facilities project activities with other departments; prepare data and documentation for governmental or customer inquiries and audits.
- Contribute to Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives, including Autonomous Maintenance, Planned Maintenance, and Focused Improvement.
- Assist in developing and updating equipment, maintenance checklists and visual controls.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for equipment failures and process deviations.
- Help facilitate cross-functional TPM teams and contribute to continuous improvement workshops.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Actively pursuing a 4-year degree in Industrial, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering.
Experience:
- Not required.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write clear reports.
- Organizational expertise and effective team building/conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds.
Target Hiring Range
- Hourly: USD 20.37 - USD 24.66
