Overview

Control Systems Engineers work to design automation systems that control the process or machine in the desired manner. The engineer will apply instrumentation, control valves, Motors/VFDs, control system electrical design, and PLC and Distributed Control System (DCS) configuration to deliver an automation system that meets the user’s needs utilizing the minimum essential design.

Reports To: Operations Director

Responsibilities
  • PLC and/or DCS configuration
  • Organize project data into manageable spreadsheets and databases
  • Human-Machine Interface (HMI) graphics development and SCADA configuration
  • Historian configuration
  • Perform I/O checkout on the installed control system and document the checkout results
  • Provide post-commissioning support to the client’s operations, engineering, and maintenance personnel
  • Travel to the client’s site as required
Education and Experience
Required Experience
  • Degreed in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or similar), Computer Science, or similar scientific / technical field
Ideal Experience
  • Co-op or intern experience in an Industrial environment
  • Familiarity and/or coursework with basic AC and DC electric circuits
  • Familiarity and/or coursework with computer programming concepts

Annual Salary Range: $60,000 – $120,000 (eligible for incentive pay)

Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
