What You’ll Do- Create and define research and technology-focused themes, participate in defining technology investment strategy and lead complex global technology realization programs in Aerospace Electrification.
- Work with GTDs across Eaton globally to define technical competencies and capabilities needed to support the technology strategy, including refining lab technical capabilities, requirements, and attracting technical talent.
- Create emerging Energy Systems research programs based on breakthrough technologies for the aerospace industry.
- Advance state-of-the-art energy and power systems and develop commercialization opportunities with Eaton’s global businesses.
- Own technical leadership through aerospace electrification roadmaps and collaborate with multi-disciplinary, globally distributed teams.
- Identify program/project risks and influence stakeholders to decide pivot, persevere, or kill decisions.
- Communicate major changes in projects or program achievements to cross-functional teams at all levels.
- Coordinate and influence research focus of partnering university consortiums and national lab initiatives.
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 15 years of professional experience, including time in the aerospace electrification industry.
- Experience working on government proposals, programs, or contracts within an organization.
- Position requires access to export-controlled information; applicant must be a U.S. person (citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).
- PhD in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Experience as a Principal Investigator in a research setting.
- Expertise with aerospace propulsion or power systems.
- Expertise in vehicle/aircraft electrical distribution architecture modeling and analysis, circuit protection and advanced control system design, energy storage systems for aircraft applications, thermal and air management for aircraft.
- Extensive experience leading engineering groups and mentoring engineering talent.
- Experience developing proposals and winning government-funded programs related to transportation electrification.
- Track record leading externally-funded programs and interacting with customers and partners’ advanced R&D organizations.
