Job Description

CMTA seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer with eight or more years of experience in consulting engineering. The candidate must have a strong and innovative technical background in Electrical Engineering. The role involves working with a team of engineers and other consultants/design team members to design the electrical aspects of energy‑efficient buildings and complex infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate is a leader and a self‑motivated individual who thrives on helping our team and clients be successful.

In this role you will act as an Electrical Engineer with design and production responsibilities, a Project Manager with internal and external team duties, a Client Champion providing excellent, responsive service, and an Employee Advocate collaborating, teaching, training, growing, and mentoring staff while promoting our Core Values.

Desired Experience
  • 8+ years of experience with MEP design
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
  • PE registration is required
  • Experience with internal and external project management
  • Experience in MEP design and specifications
  • Experience with managing, maintaining and creating Owner and Architect relationships
  • Experience with Healthcare, Higher Education, K‑12 and Commercial market sectors
  • Experience with Revit/AutoCAD
Responsibilities
  • Lead and guide design and construction projects internally within the office and externally with clients and contractors.
  • Provide guidance, support, mentorship, and leadership to staff engineers.
  • Prepare, read, and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Interact with owners, clients, architects, and contractors as needed with verbal and written communication; lead and guide meetings as needed.
  • Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks.
  • Confer with other engineers and other personnel to complete project deadlines.
  • Apply knowledge of engineering principles, research and design, as well as evaluate products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet project requirements.
  • Design and specify system components to ensure conformance with project goals and requirements.
  • Research and analyze clients’ design requirements, manuals, and other data to evaluate feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
  • Review contractor submittals (shop drawings, etc.) to determine conformance with contract documents.

Salary Range

$130,000–$170,000 + bonus
