Front Desk Coordinator

United Surgical Partners International, Inc.

Responsibilities

The Admissions Coordinator’s primary responsibilities include patient admissions, chart preparation and review, collection of payments, telephone communications, and medical record maintenance. Secondary responsibilities include providing back‑up support for insurance verifications, surgery scheduling, and other duties assigned by the Business Office Manager.

Required Skills and Experience
  • Minimum 1–2 years of hospital or medical office experience.
  • Ability to use time wisely in preparing a work area to meet high‑paced demand.
  • Show a genuine desire to work and improve the center as a whole.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Professional verbal and non‑verbal communication skills.
  • Adherence to hospital financial and admitting policies.
  • Ability to promote positive relationships with patients and staff.
  • Knowledge of insurance verification and collection processes.
  • Problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
  • Professional appearance.
  • Excellent phone etiquette and exceptional customer service skills.
Required Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent with two years of work experience in medical office, hospital, or clinic office administration with experience in patient services, scheduling, billing, coding or related fields.
  • Knowledge of computer software such as Microsoft Office.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills and proper telephone etiquette.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and surgical procedures. Thorough understanding of Medicare, Workers Compensation and third‑party payers as related to ASC reimbursement.
  • Desire and ability to work productively within a team while independently interacting with physicians, patients, family members and all levels of staff.
  • Ability to think quickly and problem solve independently.
  • Maintains current BLS certification.
  • Failure to maintain any required licenses, registrations or certifications may result in temporary or permanent disqualification from employment.
