Journeyman Electrician - Colorado

Install safe, code compliant electrical systems on Excel Electric projects that adhere to the specifications set forth in project contract documents and drawings. Reports to the Project Manager. Advises Project Manager or Warehouse Manager of material and tool needs. Responsible for implementation of Excel Electric policies in the field including safety policy and company rules. Supervises small crews as required or may have responsibility for project(s).

Trains apprentices that work on projects under direct supervision. Be on call for emergency customer service. Keep licensing active and training up-to-date relative to job duties and the national electric code.

• Represents Excel Electric by upholding our mission through their work and precsence.
• Executes Excel Electric projects in the field under supervision of a Project Manager or Owner in accordance with code and per manager instructions.
  • Materials
    • Uses materials efficiently.
    • Anticipates needs of materials in advance and coordinates with job foreman.
  • Tools
    • Maintains a neat and orderly job site.
    • Ensures that the correct tool is used for each job.
    • Protects company property by taking the necessary precautions to prevent theft and damage of company property under his direct control.
  • Labor
    • Is dependable.
    • Accurately clocks in/out of time keeping system.
    • Completes and submits required job paperwork to office on a weekly basis.
    • Trains and mentors apprentices.
  • Working Conditions
    • Works easily and skillfully with hands.
    • Maintain physical strength and stamina.
    • Mental and visual attention is necessary to effectively complete work tasks.
    • Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolds and other objects and carry tools and equipment.
    • Reach for, handle, and grasp wires and hand tools. Coordinate the use of eyes, hands, and feet. Manipulate objects and materials.
    • Must be able to stand, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, crawl, work at heights and work in small places for extended periods of time as required to perform duties.
    • Vision – ability to see details at close range and details at a distance (either manually or with correction) and distinguish colors.
    • Regularly lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs or more.
• Is prepared to occasionally assist in the response to emergency service calls during off hours.
• Implements Excel Electric policies in the field including safety policy and company rules.
• Becomes an expert in the field through continued growth and development of: skills, knowledge, and contacts.
• Attend company meetings and be an advocate for company policies, including safety, procedures and operations.

• Should be familiar with electrical field practices as well as industry practices.
• Should be organized and efficient at completing work tasks assigned.
• Ability to read and Interpret electrical drawings.
• Must be interested in training future electricians.
• Possess a current driver’s license with an excellent driving record.
• Possess a current Journeyman or Master Electrician License.
