Dispatcher - Traffic Management Center Operator (Part Time)

Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. (Jorgensen) is a world leader in maintenance management, providing facility and highway infrastructure, consulting, maintenance and management services for transportation and public works assets. This position supports maintenance operations in the Denver, CO area as a Traffic Management Center (TMC) Operator, monitoring I-70 and reporting to the CTMC in Golden, CO.

Base pay: $20.00/hr - $21.00/hr, depending on experience.

Schedule:

Fridays/Saturdays, Overnight. The position may require covering additional shifts if someone is sick or on vacation. The TMC operates 24/7; candidates with capacity to support a floating position are a plus.

• Manage traffic incident information in accordance with applicable standard operating guidelines
• Disseminate pertinent traffic incident information via Dynamic Message Signs, Highway Advisory Radio, text messages, and telephone communication
• Obtain and report traffic incident status information to and from multiple agencies
• Provide detailed documentation and reporting of incidents
• Notify supervisor of equipment or system malfunctions
• Provide outstanding customer service when responding to customer calls

• High School Diploma/GED
• Ability to utilize integrated software along with radio, voice, data or video communications
• Ability to obtain and disseminate relevant information from CCTV, scanners, field personnel, internet, two-way radio and customers
• Willing and able to work extended hours, weekends and holidays
• Ability to solve problems, prioritize duties and complete tasks promptly
• Team player with the ability to work with various personality types
• Advanced skills with Windows, Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to type 40 wpm with accuracy
• Strong communication skills (diction, grammar, spelling)
• Ability to work independently and provide pleasant customer service
• Organized, responsible and timely; ability to multitask; strong directional sense
• Positive, professional image; ability to learn new programs and adapt quickly
