Job SummaryThe DC Grocery Material Handler position is responsible for performing all functions of the Grocery department at the Natural Grocers Distribution Center. This includes using SAP for order processing, order pulling, shipping, receiving, cycle counting, and new product storage setup. The position works under minimal supervision and maintains daily communication with all departments.

- Uses SAP to process purchase orders from stores according to the daily schedule.
- Pick daily orders and prepare for shipping, including special order plus-outs.
- Perform weekly cycle counts of grocery inventory.
- Verify product rotation as needed for FIFO.
- Prioritize and process purchase orders for all new store openings.
- Schedule inbound containers and truckloads for grocery.
- Check POs for accuracy of inbound loads; report any discrepancies to purchasing dept.
- Receive product and perform applicable food safety checks required for receiving.
- Determine storage locations for inbound container loads to maximize storage space.
- Assist shipping with stacking, wrapping, and labeling pallets for outbound orders.
- Maintain good housekeeping in the grocery department and surrounding areas.
- Assist with bulk order pulling when backup is needed.
- Provide clear and professional communication with stores, managers, coworkers, and vendors at all times regarding duties, priorities and needs in the distribution center.
- Must adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- May be assigned to other warehouse duties as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Current Colorado Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in warehousing, including order picking, shipping, and receiving.
- Previous forklift experience required; must be certified on sit‑down and stand‑up reach trucks, and rider pallet jack.
- Good attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness are required.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Flexibility with working hours to accommodate warehouse needs.
- Able to work in seasonally warm or cool environment.
- Able to assist in other departments as needed.
- Previous experience with inventory required; experience with SAP is a plus.

Physical Requirements- Occasionally lift or carry up to 50 lbs.
- Occasionally push or pull up to 30 lbs.

- Frequent grip, bend, twist, and turn.
- Occasionally walking, standing, squatting, kneeling, and reaching above chest as needed.
