K-2nd Grade Teacher at Wayne County Public Schools.

• Follow all rules, policies, procedures, and state and federal regulations.
• Plan a program of study that meets individual needs and state guidelines.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects.
• Employ instructional methods and materials appropriate for meeting objectives.
• Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports.
• Counsel with colleagues, students, and/or parents on a regular basis.
• Assist the administration in implementing policies and rules governing student life and conduct, develop classroom behavior rules, and maintain order in a fair and just manner.
• Plan and supervise assignments for teacher assistants and evaluate their performance.
• Strive to maintain and improve professional competence and participate in the broad school vision.
• Attend staff meetings, serve on staff committees, and carry out non‑instructional duties as required.
• Perform related duties and responsibilities as required by the Principal.

• Bachelor’s degree in education.
• Valid teaching certificate in North Carolina.
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing and orally.
• Functional knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office Professional.
• Strong content knowledge and ability to work independently.
• Strong working relationships and classroom discipline.
• Ability to monitor the safety and well‑being of students.
• Compliance with confidentiality requirements.
• Physical ability to perform job duties (exert up to 20 pounds).

Full‑time, Ten‑month employment/FLSA Exempt.

Based on state salary scale.
