Base pay range$29.33/hr - $48.39/hr
Job SummaryPerforms CT procedures and diagnostic tests to acquire, analyze, and transmit imaging data for diagnostic interpretation.
Job Responsibilities Patient Identification- Verify patient identity using professional methods.
- Obtain and document patient history.
- Assist patients and families needing extra support.
- Confirm pregnancy status for patients of childbearing age.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety.
- Obtain images per protocol.
- Manipulate images and perform multi‑planar/3D reconstructions.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of CT algorithms.
- Select correct window/level settings for anatomy.
- Administer oral contrast to adult and pediatric patients.
- Start IV lines and administer IV contrast safely.
- Follow protocols to determine contrast eligibility.
- Check required labs prior to contrast administration.
- Transmit images to QC, EMR (UNC EPIC), and PACS.
- Verify and segment studies at the QC station.
- Use IMPAX tools to confirm image transmission.
- Modify or cancel duplicate orders to prevent duplicate billing.
- Ensure demographic accuracy on PACS images.
- Maintain proper charge accuracy.
- Maintain consistent workflow and timely task completion.
- Take initiative with challenging procedures and research tasks.
- Produce high‑quality diagnostic images.
- Review patient charts and correlate study findings.
- Maintain clean, organized work areas.
- Document incidents and improvement opportunities.
- Precept and train new employees and students.
- Education, training, and experience sufficient to perform all assigned tasks.
- 1 year of CT/MRI Technologist experience
- 2 years of Diagnostic Radiology experience
- Completion of an accredited Radiological Science educational program
- ARRT (CT) and ARRT (MRI)
- BLS (AHA or ARC)
