** Description of Work
** The psychologist will conduct pretrial forensic evaluations. Specifically, conduct pretrial forensic evaluations, including outpatients and inpatients and consultation with other hospitals. Evaluations can be of Capacity to Proceed, assessment of possible use of a Not Guilty because of Insanity defense, risk assessment or other specialized types of Forensic Evaluation. Advanced use and interpretation of psychological testing. Consultation with attorneys about evaluation results, testifying in court about the conclusion's reached in the forensic evaluations.

Provides direct supervision to interns and post-doctoral fellows in the Forensic Service.

**** Salary Range: $79,770 - $131,620
**** A Sign-on bonus of $15,000 may be offered to the successful applicant(s) of this posting, contingent on the  Budget Approval.

* Knowledge of Forensic Psychology, including competency evaluation to stand trial and NGRI defense issues.

**** Eligibility for Sign-on Bonus
** To qualify for the Sign-on Bonus,
* a* newly hired permanent full-time or permanent part-time employee must work 30 to 40 hours per week to be eligible. Those who are eligible and working less than 40 hours a week will receive a prorated rate.

* The employee has held a position in the North Carolina State government, including the judicial system, or the University of North Carolina system, within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date)
