JOB SUMMARY
The Sourcing Analyst reviews material requirements, assesses quotations and issues purchase orders to the appropriate supplier who can best supply the company's needs at the optimum lowest cost for commodity groups assigned. This role develops cost reductions and quality improvements to improve the company's competitive position.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Supports production by reviewing MRP and issuing purchase orders to the appropriate suppliers within the allotted lead time to meet deliveries per most current schedule.
- Reviews MRP/ECMs/Reschedule reports to process purchase order reschedules, cancellations and expedites as needed to ensure the correct material is available when required.
- Purchases MRO items and Blanket Contracts as necessary to support plant operations.
- Collaborates with Quality Assurance to deter supplier deficiencies.
- Ensures all rework/replacement material is expedited for best available delivery.
- Obtains pricing for all new components by researching sources and obtaining optimum cost.
- Maintains standard cost integrity.
- Monitors supplier effectiveness and stability to assure they provide continual support of Prolec-GE requirements.
- Maintains appropriate raw material inventory levels for assigned commodities.
- Develops cost reductions through negotiations and corporate programs.
- Attends GEMBA walk as scheduled, relaying cited issues to team members to review once the walk is complete.
- Knowledge of inventory control, negotiation, and business systems management.
- Demonstrate good judgment and discretion when working with confidential information.
- Ability to multi-task—efficiently prioritize and manage multiple on‑going projects.
- Self‑motivated with an eye for detail and ability to "think out of the box".
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, as well as interpersonal skills—team player.
- SAP user knowledge/SAP/4
Hana—plus. - Proficiency in Excel.
- Associate's degree in business or a related field.
- 2-3 years' experience in the purchasing or buying field in a manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor's in supply chain.
- Operations Management, including plant Supervision, Quality, Planning, etc.
- Engineering Organization.
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
WORKING CONDITIONSShop floor and office environment, located on large manufacturing campus.
