Description

Peri Anesthesia is a combined Day Surgery and PACU department providing full range of pre/post care to our surgical patients. Each day our nurses admit patients for surgery and provide preop care including admission, medication reconciliation, IV access, education and assisting with placement of peripheral nerve blocks and arterial lines. Throughout the day our nurses also provide Phase I and Phase II recovery care to patients focusing on airway management, pain control, and hemodynamic stability.

It is a great unit to be able to learn and utilize critical care skills and provide care to patients of all ages (ACLS and PALS required within 1yr of employment). The patients enjoy a department with a work flow set up around them and focused on continuity of care as the same nurse recovering the patient will typically care for them until discharge or inpatient admission.

We provide a variety of services including general surgery, urology, gynecology, ENT, dental, ophthalmology, neurology, orthopedics, vascular, and plastic surgeries.

Three 8hr shifts plus one 12 hr shift per week with call requirement (minimum of every other week).
