American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Emergency Department position requiring a NC or compact RN license and minimum two years of ED experience.
Details- Work in a 52-bed Emergency Department plus 4-bed Behavioral Health Unit providing 24/7 all-ages emergency care
- Nurse to patient ratio of 5:2
- Department averages 196 admits per day
- Day shift schedule from 7:00am to 7:00pm
- 36 hours per week across three 12-hour shifts
- On-call required if needed, approximately one shift per pay period
- Weekend coverage required (4 weekend shifts within a 6-week period)
- Holiday coverage required if needed
- Active RN license in North Carolina or compact license
- Minimum two years of Emergency Department experience required
- Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required; BSN or MSN preferred
- Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
- ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
- CPI-B certification required
- Deliver competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards in a fast-paced ED setting
- Coordinate and provide patient care using the nursing process, reporting to the Nurse Manager/Director
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to evaluate and continuously improve patient care
- Perform bedside point-of-care testing as part of patient care plans
- Assess, plan, and prioritize care for patients with complex and high-risk needs
- Participate in discharge planning and family/patient education
- Engage in unit performance improvement activities and professional development opportunities
