* General Description Aircraft mechanical personnel support F-15 aircraft maintenance operations. This position may be at either one of our locations based at Mountain Home Air Force Base, / or Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, NC and requires CONUS/OCONUS travel to support maintenance operations throughout the United States and overseas. Ideal candidates are experienced F-15 avionics/electrical technicians with a strong background in troubleshooting, repairing, modifying, and maintaining aircraft electrical, wiring, avionics, and associated systems to ensure aircraft mission readiness.
Duties - Perform inspection, troubleshooting, repair, modification, removal, installation, and operational testing of aircraft avionics and electrical systems and components.
- Troubleshoot complex electrical and avionics system malfunctions using applicable technical data, wiring diagrams, schematics, test equipment, and fault-isolation procedures.
- Inspect, repair, modify, fabricate, route, terminate, and install aircraft wiring, cables, connectors, harnesses, and associated components.
- Perform continuity, resistance, insulation, voltage, and other applicable electrical checks using approved test equipment and procedures.
- Remove and install avionics line-replaceable units, electrical components, control units, panels, wiring assemblies, and associated equipment.
- Perform aircraft modification and installation activities in accordance with applicable Technical Orders (TOs), Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTOs), engineering drawings, work instructions, and other approved technical data.
- Perform inspection, installation, cleaning, testing, and maintenance of fiber optic cables and associated components when properly qualified.
- Utilize required Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) protective measures when handling sensitive avionics, electronic components, memory modules, and circuit card assemblies.
- Interpret and apply technical publications, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, schematics, maintenance manuals, and other technical documentation.
- Perform preflight, thru-flight, post-flight, and other aircraft maintenance inspections as assigned and within applicable qualifications.
- Document maintenance, modification, inspection, and corrective actions in applicable aircraft forms, records, and maintenance information systems.
- Identify technical data, configuration, installation, or maintenance discrepancies and elevate conditions requiring additional technical or engineering guidance.
- Maintain accountability and control of tools, test equipment, parts, and materials in accordance with applicable Tool Control and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention requirements.
- Ensure calibrated test equipment and support equipment are used within applicable calibration requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and assistance to Aircraft Mechanic I and II personnel as assigned.
- Assist with training and qualifications of less-experienced personnel within areas of demonstrated technical expertise.
- Coordinate work activities with Production Control, Quality, Engineering, and other maintenance disciplines to support aircraft schedules and mission requirements.
