As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi‑disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross‑functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing technical trade‑offs in product development with engineers.
As Technical Program Manager for the Quantum AI processor team, you will usher complex, multi‑disciplinary quantum computing projects through the entire project life‑cycle from initial concept to data collection and analysis, including design, fabrication, packaging and test of superconducting qubits. You will leverage a strong technical background to define project requirements, assess technical feasibility, plan project schedules and anticipate engineering challenges.
You will serve as the orchestrator of the execution process, driving timelines and managing dependencies across multiple technical teams. You will be proactive in communicating with stakeholders and tracking progress.
The full potential of quantum computing will be unlocked with a large‑scale computer capable of complex, error‑corrected computations. Google Quantum AI's mission is to build this computer and unlock solutions to classically intractable problems. Our roadmap is focused on advancing the capabilities of quantum computing and enabling meaningful applications.
The US base salary range for this full‑time position is $156,000‑$229,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
Minimum qualifications- Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in program management.
- 5 years of experience with technical contributions in systems engineering, hardware development, semiconductor device design/fabrication, quantum computing, or related fields.
- Advanced degree in Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related Engineering field.
- 5 years of experience managing cross‑functional or cross‑team projects.
- Experience managing dependencies and cross‑functional interfaces, anticipating issues and proposing solutions, and developing or improving tools or processes.
- Experience in any of the following industries: semiconductor fabrication and device design, complex systems engineering, cryogenics, experimental physics related research, aerospace, hardware research facilities, or related industries.
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to understand or identify defined work problems and program goals, obtain prioritized deliverables, and discuss program impact.
- Prioritize program goals, understand and translate other stakeholders’ needs into program goals and prioritized deliverables with minimal assistance, and contribute to decisions on prioritizing goals and deliverables.
- Support Quantum AI research teams by planning project requirements, managing project schedules, planning and leading project life‑cycle reviews (concept review, design review, etc.), and serving as a collaboration interface between technical teams.
- Anticipate issues and propose solutions, manage dependencies and cross‑functional interfaces, and identify the need to develop or improve tools or processes.
- Document and communicate work plans, timelines, and results to the broader team.
