The Opportunity

This is a hands-on role for a detail-oriented, organized professional who keeps materials moving accurately through our manufacturing operation. The Shipping, Receiving & Inventory Coordinator is responsible for the physical and transactional flow of materials—from receiving incoming shipments and maintaining the stockroom to picking, packing, and shipping finished products to our customers.

You will play a key role in keeping inventory accurate, production supplied, and customer orders going out the door on time. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in accuracy, enjoys hands-on work, and wants to help improve the systems and processes that support our growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Shipping:
  • Pick, pack, and ship customer orders, spare parts, and returns accurately and on schedule, using packaging appropriate for our precision motion components. Packaging ranges from standard cardboard with foam inserts to custom-manufactured wood crates or pallets.
  • Record weights and dimensions, and prepare shipping documentation, including packing slips, bills of lading, commercial invoices, and certificates of conformance as required.
  • Coordinate with carriers (e.g., UPS, Fed Ex, LTL freight) to schedule pickups and select timely, cost-effective shipping methods.
  • Support international shipments, ensuring export documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Process shipments in the ERP system and provide tracking information to Customer Service and customers.
Receiving:
  • Receive and inspect all incoming materials for correct quantity, part number, revision, and condition against purchase orders.
  • Promptly record receipts in the ERP system and route materials to quality inspection, stock, or production as required.
  • Identify and report discrepancies, damage, or shortages to Purchasing, and coordinate returns to suppliers.
  • Maintain organized receiving records, including packing lists and material certifications.
Inventory Control:
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and clearly labeled stockroom with accurate bin locations.
  • Perform regular cycle counts, and investigate and resolve variances to maintain 99% inventory accuracy.
  • Pick and kit materials for production work orders in line with the build schedule.
  • Monitor stock levels and replenishment signals (e.g., KANBAN), and alert Purchasing to low stock or shortages.
  • Flag slow-moving, excess, or obsolete stock for review.
System And Site Management:
  • Complete accurate, timely ERP transactions (receipts, issues, transfers, adjustments, and shipments) to protect data integrity.
  • Work closely with Production, Purchasing, Engineering, and Customer Service to support material availability and on-time delivery.
  • Keep the shipping, receiving, and stockroom areas safe, following proper material handling practices, including pallet jack or forklift use as applicable.
  • Contribute ideas for continuous improvement in shipping, receiving, and stockroom processes (e.g., 5S, lean).
  • Manage orderly stowage of crates in our back yard and keep internal areas free of freight dunnage.
Qualifications & Profile:

Required (Need To Have):
  • High School Diploma.
  • Fluent in reading, writing, and understanding English.
  • Experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, or inventory control, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience with an ERP/MRP or inventory management system.
  • Experience with carrier shipping software (e.g., UPS World Ship, Fed Ex Ship Manager) and freight shipments.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with excellent organizational and recordkeeping skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and to stand and walk for extended periods.
Preferred (Nice To Have):
  • Additional coursework in logistics or supply chain is a plus.
  • Experience in a high-mix, low-volume or custom manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of forklift operation.
  • Ability to read part numbers, basic technical drawings, and specifications.
