Financial Manager, CFO
The Assistant Superintendent of Business Services, under the direction of the Superintendent, oversees the District’s financial, business, and operational functions to ensure strong fiscal management and support high-quality educational services. This role leads budget development, financial planning, accounting, payroll, and business operations; monitors compliance with fiscal laws and policies; supports negotiations with bargaining units; supervises Business Services staff; manages audits and internal controls;
and serves as a key advisor to the Superintendent and Board on all business and financial matters. The position also oversees programs such as Food Services, insurance, and school construction financial reporting, while promoting a collaborative, team-oriented approach across the District.
- Education and Experience:
any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (Master's preferred). - Minimum of three years in a significant leadership role, preferably in a school site or school district administrative position.
- Knowledge of:
Principles and techniques of supervision and training, General school and school district organization. - Ability to:
Analyze and interpret proposed and adopted legislation affecting school fiscal and budgetary matters;
Understand, analyze, and explain conflicts mathematical models used for financing schools;
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing;
Direct and coordinate professional and technical staff;
Organize and administer large-scale data collection efforts involving numerous agencies and personnel;
Evaluate, train, coordinate, and implement the work of professional, technical, and clerical employees performing a variety of business management and financial analysis functions.
- Chief Business Official certification, other college degrees or certifications related to the position.
- Previous experience serving as a director of fiscal services or related position.
- Highly collaborative, friendly, approachable, and customer service based.
- Understands and values the connection to serving students and staff.
- Systems thinker-understands the implementation of sustainable protocols and procedures to ensure fiscal solvency.
