Position
Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machinist
Location:
Gonzales, Louisiana
Shift: Second Shift – Monday to Friday, 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM (base pay + $1.00 shift differential)
Salary: $28.22–$42.26 per hour
Responsibilities- Be responsible for personal safety and for the safety of others. Must maintain excellent housekeeping standards.
- Set‑up, indicate, and machine raw material (bar stock, forgings, and castings) to manufacture Fisher OEM parts to OEM print dimensions.
- Cross‑train on all machines to prevent lapses in production flow, including engine lathes, manual drills, horizontal bandsaws, CNC lathes, VTLs, HBMs, and CNC mills.
- Understand material hardness, cutting tools, speeds and feeds, coolant requirements, and machining techniques.
- Interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerances (GD&T) per part drawings.
- Potential for field assignments using in‑line machine; some travel may be required.
- Adhere to all safety, quality, and environmental rules and regulations.
- Mechanical‑related associate’s degree or 7+ years of experience with machining and fabricating.
- Minimum 5 years of full‑cycle machining experience, including programming, setup, and operation of machines.
- Working knowledge of CAD/CAM (Master Cam) and Solid Works modeling.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer relations skills.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Welding knowledge preferred.
- Experience in the process control industry is a plus.
- Knowledge of analyzing, evaluating, diagnosing, and resolving equipment and process‑related problems is strongly preferred.
