Relay Settings and System Protection Senior Engineer
Join Enercon Services, Inc. as a Relay Settings and System Protection Senior Engineer. This role requires at least 10 years of experience in power systems protection and is eligible for advanced professional engineering registration.

- Other ENERCON locations in the Mountain, Central and Eastern time zones
- Remote (for senior-level candidates)
We are seeking a Senior Engineer to design and optimize protective relay systems, lead technical initiatives, and deliver innovative solutions across diverse energy sources while ensuring compliance and fostering collaboration within the team.
Responsibilities- Design, specify, calculate, and coordinate protective relay settings and relay control schemes.
- Develop and maintain logic schemes in protective relays and power‑system‑specific logic controllers.
- Create protection schemes for transmission, distribution, generation, and renewable energy sources.
- Provide technical guidance to fellow engineers and present solutions to clients.
- Perform short‑circuit analysis, time‑current coordination, step‑distance coordination, and develop relay settings.
- Prepare test plans, commission systems, analyze protection events, and develop NERC PRC compliance materials.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to implement technical solutions.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited university.
- Professional Engineering registration or plan to become registered within one year.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in power system protection, controls engineering, and relay settings.
- Proficiency with system modeling and fault analysis software (ASPEN, CAPE, ETAP, Easy Power) and Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong knowledge of relay coordination studies for 12.47 kV–345 kV systems; experience with 500 kV and 765 kV systems is a plus.
- Experience applying NERC PRC standards for compliance.
- Excellent analytical, computer, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Self‑starter with strong client‑relationship focus and multitasking ability.
- Experience leading project teams, SCADA, communication systems, and network engineering is a plus.

Individual compensation within the stated range is determined by work location, experience, skills, and education.
