Innovien is supporting a large-scale network modernization for a national enterprise whose footprint spans data centers, colocation facilities, and distribution sites. We're hiring a Data Center Infrastructure & Operations Lead to own the physical layer: the racks, the cabling, and the crews that keep it all running. If you can splice fiber in the morning and run a vendor walkthrough in the afternoon, this is the seat.
WhatYou'll Do
- Own day-to-day operations across owned data centers, third-party colocation facilities, and distribution technology rooms, including rack and stack, equipment installs, moves/adds/changes, and remote hands support
- Set and enforce structured cabling and fiber standards, and get hands-on with splicing, termination, and testing when the work calls for it
- Lead technicians, cabling crews, and subcontractors, and verify vendor workmanship and test results
- Run cabling remediation, MDF/IDF builds, and data center cleanup projects from scope through handoff
- Serve as primary contact for colocation providers and back up senior data center leadership, while keeping rack elevations, floor plans, cable schedules, network diagrams, and power layouts current
- 7+ years in enterprise data centers (50+ racks), structured cabling, or low-voltage infrastructure
- 5+ years of hands-on structured cabling and fiber work: splicing, termination, testing, patch panels, remediation
- Experience leading technicians, cabling crews, or subcontractors, including directing third-party vendors and checking their work
- Ownership of at least one full cabling remediation, MDF/IDF build, or data center cleanup project
- Ability to read rack elevations, floor plans, cable schedules, network diagrams, and power layouts
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work from ladders
- Valid driver's license
- BICSI, FOA fiber, Network+, CCNA, ITIL Foundation, or OSHA 10 certifications
- Hyperscale or AI data center build experience
- 100% onsite, Nashville, TN area
- About 35% domestic travel between data centers, colocation sites, and distribution facilities, with travel expenses covered
