Shift: M-F 12:30 PM – 9:00 PM
The pharmacy technician works under the supervision of a registered pharmacist to assist in preparation and distribution of patient medications. Responsibilities include maintaining inventory, reviewing regulatory paperwork, assisting in aseptic compounding of sterile IV preparations, managing automated dispensing machines, streamlining pharmacy workflow, participating in quality assurance programs, and assisting with regulatory inspections.
Job Responsibilities- Competent in aseptic compounding of sterile IV preparations in compliance with USP 797 and USP 800 guidelines, including TPN, IV drips, and chemotherapy.
- Assist with maintaining adequate stock of medications and supplies according to established inventory control levels.
- Assist with the management of automated dispensing machines for quality and regulatory reporting.
- Assist with pharmacy workflow by streamlining phone calls to appropriate staff and delivering patient‑specific medications to departments.
- Participate in departmental and hospital quality assurance programs with an emphasis on patient safety and regulatory compliance.
- Assist with regulatory required monthly unit inspections for all departments that stock medications.
- Education:
High school diploma. - Licensure:
Current Arizona Pharmacy Technician License. - Certification:
National Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT or ExCPT).
