Position OverviewWe are seeking a Supply Chain Production Control Manager to strengthen our operational execution through advanced planning, coordination, and scheduling across all production programs. This role leads a growing team of Master Schedulers and Production Planners to ensure seamless integration between engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and logistics. The candidate is a results-driven leader who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth manufacturing environments and balances strategic program oversight with day-to-day production realities.
Key Responsibilities Production Control & Scheduling- Oversee the development and maintenance of the Master Production Schedule (MPS) to align with customer demand, material availability, and manufacturing capacity.
- Coordinate with supply chain, procurement, and operations to ensure on-time delivery of materials and finished goods.
- Lead daily and weekly production control meetings to communicate priorities and resolve bottlenecks.
- Standardize scheduling processes and tools across multiple production programs.
- Build and manage demand forecasts in collaboration with sales, operations, and engineering.
- Translate forecasts into actionable production and procurement plans.
Conduct capacity analysis to identify resource constraints and recommend adjustments to meet customer commitments. - Ensure consistent planning logic and forecast accuracy across all product lines.
- Partner with business unit leaders to ensure planning alignment with project milestones and delivery schedules.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) planning by integrating engineering change orders and ramp-up requirements.
- Facilitate communication between teams to ensure visibility into material shortages, production delays, and delivery risks.
- Leverage ERP and MES systems (e.g., Net Suite, SAP, or JD Edwards) to enhance visibility and accuracy in scheduling.
- Ensure data integrity and process discipline in all scheduling, routing, and production control activities.
- Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for production planning and shop-floor coordination.
- Develop real-time reporting tools and dashboards for capacity utilization, schedule adherence, and on-time delivery.
- Hire, train, and mentor a team of Master Schedulers and Production Planners to support both near-term and long-range production goals.
- Establish clear KPIs and accountability structures for the planning function.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence across the planning and scheduling teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in production control, master scheduling, or supply chain management within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- 3+ years of experience in a leadership or managerial role.
- Strong expertise in ERP/MRP systems (Net Suite preferred).
- Experience implementing or managing Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
- Proven track record of improving scheduling accuracy, reducing lead times, and increasing throughput.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- APICS CPIM or CSCP certification strongly preferred.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Theory of Constraints (TOC) principles.
- Experience managing multiple production facilities or high-mix, low-volume manufacturing operations.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems and audit requirements.
- Lead the planning and production control discipline for a company at the forefront of industrial energy and defense manufacturing.
