Lead CNC Programmer

This position is part of the Fabrication Business Unit. The team is integral to the success of helping support the hundreds of fabricated parts we produce each day. The candidate will work cross functionally to support multiple facilities with respect to sheet metal fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Program CNC equipment including flat sheet laser cutters, press brakes, turret punch presses, panel benders, 5-axis routers, and custom automated coil-fed equipment
• Oversee the process of manufacturing FAI sample parts, prototypes, and production trial runs
• Troubleshoot program and tooling issues alongside machine operators and maintenance technicians
• Develop production routings, time standards, bill of materials (BOMs) and work instructions
• Work with design and quality engineering to improve manufacturing drawings and inspection plans as part of new product introductions and continuous improvement projects
• Help achieve cost reduction and material utilizations targets
• This position requires 6 to 12 days of domestic travel for training over the first 4 months.

Technical/other training or better.

10 years’ experience in the manufacturing industry

Previous CNC programming experience

Working knowledge of machine operations

Action oriented and ability to set appropriate priorities
