Shift: Wednesday to Saturday, 8:00 PM to 6:30 AM.
Responsibilities and QualificationsThis job contributes to REI’s success by executing day-to-day physical security strategy at distribution center and headquarters locations while providing robust security services and exceptional customer service. The role requires strong communication, problem solving, and a commitment to safety and emergency response.
What You’ll Do- Monitors, maintains, and responds to alarms within the camera, access control, and alarm systems and collaborates with internal and external partners to resolve situations.
- Responds to both emergency and non-emergency situations, provides security support, and helps coordinate the response of other internal teams.
- Documents and reports information to the appropriate internal and external partners in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Logs all visitors, contractors, and vendors and issues badges as required.
- Inspects and checks trailers and containers and enforces access control policy.
- Operates a hand-held radio, cell phone, or other communication devices as needed.
- Makes regular and consistent patrols in and around the REI location, checking for unsafe conditions, hazards, security violations, and unauthorized persons.
- Maintains proficiency in emergency response procedures.
- Serves as a leader in emergency situations, participates in the site emergency response team, and coordinates evacuations.
- Works a flexible 24/7 schedule with nights, weekends, and holidays while maintaining regular attendance and punctuality.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 2+ years of security experience, including CCTV usage, in a warehouse setting with a national brand or equivalent experience.
- Current state-issued Guard Card or ability to obtain a state-issued Guard Card within 90 days of employment (based on individual state requirements).
- Analytical and critical thinking skills, solving problems independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Internet, and Access Control Systems.
- Strong interpersonal and writing skills, ability to interact well and build rapport with individuals at all levels within and outside the organization.
- CPR/First Aid/AED certified or ability to obtain certifications within first 30 days.
- Active participation and collaboration with others on the team and across REI for business goals.
- Flexible in viewpoint and position to support the direction taken at REI.
- Uses business knowledge, innovative thinking, and sound judgment to solve problems and pursue opportunities.
- Considers the ultimate impact of decisions on internal and external customers.
