Cable Technicians

Anistar is seeking Cable Technicians for a long term opportunity to provide assistance with the installation, termination, and testing of various types of voice and data cables. The ideal candidate will under general supervision maintain a highly analytical and problem solving mindset while working as a team player. Candidates will gain experience in running, testing, and terminating low voltage equipment for large data center projects.

Technicians with exposure to working with various cables include but are not limited to CAT-5e, CAT-6, single & multi mode fiber optic cables. Cable installation includes pulling, placement, termination, testing, and labeling. Knowledge of Telecom systems, TCP/IP networks, CCTV security, access control & wireless solutions. BICSI cert (current or past) a plus but not needed. We are looking for individuals who will pay attention to detail and work efficiently under minimal supervision.

• Pulling and routing CAT5e or CAT6 cable in a new construction environment
• Pulling and installation of fiber optic cables
• Testing fiber optic cables with Fluke/Viavi tester
• Labeling fiber optic and copper cables
• Racking and stacking equipment
• Installing support structures (ladder rack, fiber tray, basket tray)
• Installation of Hot Aisle Containment systems (HACs)
• Must be comfortable working from scissor/boom lifts

• 1+ years’ experience installing and servicing voice and data systems in a commercial environment.
• Ownership of basic telecom tools:
  Punch down, snips, wire strippers, cordless drill, Hard Hat, Boots, Safety Glasses, etc.
• Must be open to working Monday-Saturday up to 60 hours per week
• Familiarity with BICSI, EIA, TIA or NEC Standards.
