Under general supervision, cares for and maintains spring training baseball facilities, right‑of‑ways, medians, and other public grounds and must also be flexible to work nights, weekends and holidays.
Our ideal candidate must have the ability to thrive in a high work volume environment, be flexible with work shifts/times, and work in extreme outdoor environments. Maintenance experience in Sports/Athletic fields would be highly desirable. Any current certifications or experience in a formal safety program would also be ideal. (Certifications could include:
Georgia Sports Turf, Ohio State Sports Turf, Smartscape, AZ Pesticide License, U of A Desert Turf School).

Responsibilities- Maintains and repairs baseball fields including mound and home plateakt, skin work, bullpens, warning tracks, and batting practice set‑up and tear‑down.
- Maintains the turf by mowing, edging, fertilizing, applying pesticide and weed control, irrigating, verti‑cutting, aerating, sod work, and over‑seeding.
- Provides general clean‑up of grounds and facilities including restrooms, dugouts, concourses, parking lots, irrigation pond, and all open‑use areas.
- Maintains outside landscape of turf, Dylan, shrubs, gravel, irrigation, walkways and parking lots.
- Assists with all non‑baseball event set‑up/break‑down and coordination.
- Completes all computer‑based trainings as assigned.
- Formal Education/Knowledge: Job requires the ability to read and understand written instructions, to understand simple processes and the routine operation of machines. Level of knowledge is equivalent to less than high school or equivalency.
- Experience: No experience required.
- Certifications and Other Requirements: Valid Driver’s License.
- Reading: Ability to read irrigation manuals, training guides, standard operating procedures and MSDS manuals.
- Math: Ability to perform general math calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
- Writing: Ability to complete work orders and general correspondence.
- Managerial: No responsibility for the direction or supervision of others but may provide advice or direction to an employee with less experience, skill or tenure.
- Policy/Decision Making: Moderate – Employee normally performs duty assignments after receiving detailed instructions with little room for deviation. The immediate supervisor may provide close review at times. Technical

- Identify and enroll in a certification by your Supervisor. (Georgia Sports Turf, Ohio State Sports Turf, Smartscape, AZ Pesticide License, U of A Desert Turf School)
- Familiarize yourself with operational SOPs and attend the next round of training.
- Show proficiency with our three models of reel and rotary mowers (John Deere 7700, Toro 3100D, Walker Model T).
- This will be evidenced by:
- Watching operators and safety videos.
- Completing the quiz at the end of the videos.
- Completing a “field test” with these pieces of equipment with a supervisor.
