What You'll Be Doing
As a Works Manager, you will take ownership of the day-to-day operational delivery of a highways scheme, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, on programme and within budget.
Your responsibilities will include:

· You will lead and manage site teams, including Foremen, Supervisors, Engineers and specialist subcontractors.

· You will oversee the day-to-day delivery of highways and civil engineering works, ensuring programme milestones are achieved.

· You will coordinate multiple construction activities, ensuring labour, plant, materials and subcontractors are utilised effectively.

· You will work closely with commercial, planning, design and client teams to ensure successful project delivery.

· You will take responsibility for maintaining high standards of health, safety, environmental compliance and quality across the project.

· You will monitor operational performance, identify potential risks and implement solutions to keep works progressing.

· You will ensure works are delivered in accordance with NEC contract requirements, company procedures and relevant legislation.

· You will develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, stakeholders and subcontractors.
What You'll Need
To be considered for this Works Manager opportunity, you will ideally have:

· Previous experience working as a Works Manager, General Foreman or in a similar operational management position within highways or civil engineering.

· A strong background in delivering highways infrastructure schemes, including managing site teams and subcontractors.

· A proven ability to manage construction programmes, resources, budgets and project delivery.

· A good understanding of NEC contracts and associated contractual requirements.

· Strong knowledge of health, safety, environmental and quality standards.

· Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.

· The ability to work collaboratively with commercial, engineering and client teams.

· Relevant construction management qualifications and industry certifications.
