Are you a Site Engineer with highways or civil engineering experience looking for a role where you can take ownership of site delivery and work on varied infrastructure projects?
This is an opportunity to join my client as a Site Engineer
- Highways, working on highway improvement and civil engineering schemes in the Goole area. You will have the opportunity to develop your technical and site management experience while playing an important part in delivering projects safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
My client is an established infrastructure and civil engineering organisation delivering highway and associated construction projects. They are looking for a Site Engineer
- Highways who can provide hands-on engineering support and help ensure works are delivered safely, accurately, on programme and within budget.
You will work closely with site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and other project stakeholders, giving you exposure to both the technical and operational sides of project delivery.
What you will be doing- Coordinating and supervising highway construction activities, including earthworks, drainage, pavement construction and associated civil engineering works.
- Setting out and surveying works using equipment such as total stations and GPS, ensuring accurate levels and alignments.
- Carrying out regular site inspections to monitor progress, workmanship and quality.
- Ensuring works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and relevant construction standards.
- Working closely with subcontractors, suppliers and site teams to maintain effective project delivery.
- Maintaining accurate site records, including site diaries, progress reports, quality documentation and safety records.
- Assisting with method statements, risk assessments and permits to work.
- Supporting the implementation of health, safety and environmental requirements across the site.
- Identifying technical or site-related issues and working with the wider project team to resolve them efficiently.
- Monitoring progress and supporting project cost and budget control.
- An HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Previous experience working as a Site Engineer within highways, roads or a closely related civil engineering environment.
- A good understanding of construction standards, specifications and health and safety requirements.
- Experience with setting out and surveying equipment, including total stations and GPS.
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication and organisational skills, with the confidence to work with site teams, subcontractors and other stakeholders.
- A valid CSCS card or equivalent.
- A valid UK driving licence.
- An SMSTS or SSSTS qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
You will receive a salary of up to £45,000, dependent on experience, alongside the opportunity to work on highways and infrastructure projects where you can continue developing your technical and project delivery experience.
