Assistant Accountant

Based in East Yorkshire in the Goole/Howden area, our client is looking to add to their existing finance team in appointing an Assistant Accountant. The successful candidate will already have practical accounting experience and just started ACCA or CIMA study or AAT level 4 and looking to pursue further professional study. This role may also suit a graduate with a financial or accounting degree.

The salary banding on offer will reflect on the level of experience and level of qualification. Candidates currently working in professional practice and looking to make the entry into industry are also welcome to apply.

So what experience will you need for the job? Well, you need to have sound IT skills, particularly with Excel, a positive and collaborative approach and a thirst for learning. You will have a curious mindset and enjoy analysing and investigating figures. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal are essential as is the ability to be adaptable, self motivated and  work to deadlines.

The role will involve preparing month end balance sheet reporting and providing support with budgets and forecasts. You will also assist with preparing VAT returns, KPIs and assist with the preparation of management accounts.

This is a superb developmental role and likely to vary in content depending on the ability and experience of the successful candidate.

The location is in the western East Yorkshire area and an easy commute from Goole, Howden, Selby and Doncaster. There are also road links to the Market Weighton and Pocklington areas and to the east, North Cave, Brough and Hull.
