Vehicle Smart Repair Technician (Temp to Perm)

Pay rate: £16.72 per hour

Contract:

Temporary to Permanent after 12 weeks (for the right candidate)

Shift pattern: 4 on / 4 off

Hours:

6:00am - 6:00pm

GI Group are recruiting for an experienced Vehicle Smart Repair Technician to join their clients busy automotive site in Grimsby. This is a hands‑on role within a fast‑paced environment, with the opportunity to secure a permanent contract after 12 weeks based on performance.

• Completing SMART repairs to a high standard (paintwork, bumpers, scuffs, scratches, minor dents, alloy wheel repairs where applicable)
• Preparing panels and surfaces ready for repair/paint
• Colour matching and blending to achieve a quality finish
• Working to site processes, health & safety standards, and productivity targets
• Reporting any additional damage/rectification required

• Previous experience in SMART repair is required
• Full UK driving licence required
• Held for at least 2 years
• Must be 22 years of age or over (insurance requirement)
• Ideally 0 points / no endorsements
• Up to 3 points may be accepted depending on the endorsement code
• Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high‑quality work
• Reliable and able to commit to 12-hour shifts on a 4 on / 4 off rotation

• £16.72 per hour
• Consistent shifts: 4 on / 4 off, 6am-6pm
• Temp to perm after 12 weeks for the right candidate

Please note:

Due to client requirements, previous experience as a Vehicle Prepper or in a similar body shop/prep role is essential.
