Mechanically biased Maintenance Engineer

Goole (DN14)

Up to £45,000

Days Only | Mon-Thu 8am-4:30pm | Fri Finish 2pm

Join a well-established manufacturing business as the mechanically biased maintenance engineer, working within a small team, maintaining equipment and machinery, fault finding and continuous improvement activities. This is an excellent opportunity if you're an experienced maintenance engineer looking for a stable days-based role with no weekend working.

Key Responsibilities

Working with the manager and one newly qualified engineer.

Carrying out activities on the Preventative Planned Maintenance (PPM) programme.

Diagnose and repair mechanical and basic electrical faults.

Support production teams with engineering solutions.

Maintain documentation as necessary and assist with site improvement projects.

Requirements Essential
  • Apprentice trained Maintenance Engineer (or equivalent qualification).
  • Strong mechanical maintenance background within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Experience working with conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Ability to diagnose faults and resolve mechanical failures.
  • Hands-on experience carrying out repairs, disassembly, alignment, rebuilding and reassembly of mechanical equipment.
  • Computer literate with the ability to use maintenance management systems and maintenance records.
  • Positive attitude with a commitment to safety, reliability and continuous improvement.
Desirable
  • Multi-skilled with electrical maintenance experience.
  • Knowledge of Lean, Kaizen or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience maintaining filling, blending and packaging machinery.
