Mechanically biased Maintenance Team Leader
Goole (DN14)
Up to £50,000
Days Only | Mon-Thu 8am-4:30pm | Fri Finish 2pm
Join a well-established manufacturing business as the Mechanical Maintenance Team Leader, leading a small engineering team while remaining hands‑on with maintenance, fault finding and continuous improvement activities. This is an excellent opportunity for a maintenance engineer ready to step into leadership, or an experienced team leader looking for a stable days-based role with no weekend working.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, motivate and support a small team of one electrically biased and one newly qualified engineer.
- Manage and develop the Preventative Planned Maintenance (PPM) programme.
- Prioritise maintenance activities and coordinate engineering resources.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment performance.
- Support production teams with engineering solutions.
- Maintain compliance, documentation and safety standards.
- Assist with contractor management and site improvement projects.
Essential
- Apprentice trained Maintenance Engineer (or equivalent qualification).
- Strong mechanical maintenance background within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Experience working with conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Ability to diagnose faults and resolve mechanical failures using a logical and structured approach.
- Hands‑on experience carrying out repairs, disassembly, alignment, rebuilding and reassembly of mechanical equipment.
- Computer literate with the ability to use maintenance management systems and maintenance records.
- Positive attitude with a commitment to safety, reliability and continuous improvement.
- Multi‑skilled with electrical maintenance experience.
- Knowledge of Lean, Kaizen or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience maintaining filling, blending and packaging machinery.
- Up to £50,000 DOE
- Days only, no shifts and no weekends
- Early finish every Friday
