Are you an experienced Transport Planner looking for a varied role with long-term career prospects?
I'm currently supporting a confidential logistics business in the Goole area with the appointment of a strong, versatile Transport Planner. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established operation where you'll play a key role at the heart of a busy transport function.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, live transport environment
, balancing customer expectations, driver communication, operational efficiency, and commercial decision-making.
As Transport Planner, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating daily transport activity to ensure resources are used effectively while maintaining high service levels.
Key responsibilities- Planning daily transport routes and vehicle movements
- Allocating work to drivers and maximise fleet efficiency
- Liaising with customers, drivers, and internal teams
- Reacting quickly to delays, breakdowns, or operational changes
- Managing customer expectations with clear communication
- Supporting cost-effective planning and operational efficiency
- Ensuring compliance, service standards, and delivery requirements are met
- Building strong working relationships across the transport operation
We are looking for someone who is more than just a planner
- commercially aware, customer-focused, and confident making decisions in a dynamic environment

- Previous experience in transport planning, logistics coordination, or fleet planning
- Strong communication skills with a confident telephone manner
- Good geographical knowledge and route planning ability
- The ability to prioritise, problem-solve, and remain calm under pressure
- A strong customer-focused approach with attention to service levels
- Commercial awareness around cost, efficiency, and resource planning
- A flexible, hands-on approach and ability to adapt quickly
- Experience using transport planning systems (desirable)
- Salary of £35,000 - £42,000 DOE
