Position OverviewThe Before and After School Care Assistant provides supervision and support for students enrolled in the before and after school programs. This role ensures the safety, well-being, and engagement of students during these times.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise students during before and after school hours.
- Assist in planning and implementing enrichment activities for students.
- Ensure students are engaged in appropriate activities and follow safety procedures.
- Monitor student behavior and provide guidance and support as needed.
- Communicate with parents regarding students’ participation and any concerns.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized program space.
- Any other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Regularly communicate; sit, stand, walk, and use hands to handle or feel objects. May need to reach with hands and arms and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Work EnvironmentThis position operates in a professional school environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment. Noise level is typically moderate and may be higher during student-centered activities or events. Occasional local travel for school-related functions may be required.
FLSA ClassificationThis position is classified as Non-Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is in accordance with applicable federal and South Carolina labor laws.
