Program SummaryK maintains and manages Army prepositioned stocks at the Army Field Support Battalion - Charleston (AFSBn-CHS) land site and aboard ship to include all logistics and maintenance operations. The K APS-3 Program is managed and executed at Goose Creek in support of the Army’s power projection doctrine and resources. The contract provides maintenance of APS-3 stocks (Class II, IIIP, IV, VII, IX) to ensure that unit sets stored aboard marine vessels are configured and maintained at optimal readiness.
K provides limited maintenance and supply support aboard ship to ensure that equipment sets are maintained in a ready condition for emergency download and issue to operating units at the direction of the US Army. K also provides maintenance services and logistical support for other Army programs, IAW individual scope of work contract requirements.
The truck driver drives a truck to transport materials, merchandise, equipment, or workers between various types of establishments, and customers places of business. This driver may also load or unload trucks with helpers.
Roles and Responsibilities- When hauling a flatbed, step deck, or lowboy trailer load securement will have to be performed to include using ratchet straps, chains and binders, and securement dunnage.
- Loading rail cars will require setting out planks to drive from car to car and handling rail car binders to secure equipment to rail cars.
- Driver will have to climb in and out of vehicles on the rail.
- Hooking up various types of military style trailers requiring long periods of standing and bending to get items ready to haul or stage.
- Driver will be required to get the passenger endorsement added to their class A CDL.
- Drivers will be required to learn to operate various types of MHE equipment to include forklifts ranging from 4k to 30k, backhoes, bulldozers, skid steers, etc.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with a valid U.S. Passport
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC)
- Must possess a valid State Driver’s License.
- Possess and maintain a Class (A) Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Possess and maintain a Bus Passenger endorsement on their Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Hazardous endorsement is preferred with your Class (A) Commercial Drivers License (CDL)
- Must be able to stand - between 2 to 3 hours per day.
- Must be able to walk - between 4 to 5 hours per day.
- Must be able to lift - up to 35 lbs. – 50 lbs. periodically.
- Must be able to squat, knell, bend, reach and climb periodically.
- Must be able to work outside and inside in non-climate-controlled environments.
