Category Purchaser – Damen Workboats

We are looking for a Category Purchaser to be part of the Supply Chain department within Damen Workboats. The role involves procurement of essential components such as engines, systems, windows, and valves to support vessel production in Vietnam, Turkey, China, and the United Arab Emirates. The candidate will manage day‑to‑day purchasing activities, monitor supplier performance, and work closely with Category Management, Material Planning, and shipyard operations.

• Coordinate purchasing processes and ensure timely delivery of materials for vessel production.
• Enhance supplier performance through the initiation and participation in supplier development initiatives.
• Identify supply chain risks and disruptions early and raise escalations when necessary.
• Maintain the ERP system and keep accurate administrative records.
• Contribute to improvement programs in the global supply chain.
• Align purchasing activities with Material Planning and international shipyards to support smooth production operations.

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in international procurement or supply‑chain role, preferably in a process‑driven industry.
• Strong communication skills in Dutch (mandatory) and English.
• Experience with ERP systems – knowledge of SAP is a bonus.
• Proactive, hands‑on mentality with a service‑oriented attitude.
