Administration Support Secretary
The closing date is 26 February 2026
We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 3 Administration Support Secretary to join our friendly Palliative Care Team within the Division of Medicine.
This role is ideal for a candidate who is compassionate and would like to make a positive difference to patient experience. Whilst not a hands‑on patient role this position enables the post holder to speak with patients on a daily basis and improve hospital waiting times by working effectively and efficiently.
Main duties of the jobThe Administration Support Secretary role within our Palliative Care team is a varied, meaningful, and highly rewarding position, working as part of a compassionate and supportive multidisciplinary service. You will provide day‑to‑day administrative support to allocated clinicians and also contribute to wider team tasks that help ensure the smooth and sensitive delivery of patient care.
A high standard of typing and accuracy is essential, as much of the work involves preparing clinical correspondence and handling information that requires care, attention, and confidentiality. Equally important is a willingness to continue developing your skills and competencies within a specialist environment.
We are looking for someone who is organised, reliable, and able to balance competing priorities while maintaining a calm and professional approach. You should be comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively within a close‑knit team. While previous experience in a medical or palliative‑care setting is beneficial, it is not essential. Full training and ongoing support will be provided for candidates who demonstrate the right skills, values, and commitment to delivering high‑quality administrative support within palliative care.
About usWe want to attract the best and brightest people to work with us and that means we will look after you from the moment you apply for a role at the Trust and throughout your career with us. Our staff are central to everything we do, and we believe that investing in you is crucial if we want to enable you to reach your full potential.
