Radiology Administration AssistantThe closing date is 27 February 2026
We are looking to appoint a self-motivated individual with great interpersonal skills and a commitment to customer service to work as an Admin Assistant within the Radiology Department at the James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The postholder will be required to have good typing, organisational skills and willingness to learn. All applicants should possess good levels of communication skills and understand professional behaviour and patient care. Good IT skills and experience working within an admin role are also essential. Previous experience of work within healthcare and with similar IT systems is advantageous but not essential.
The role is interesting and varied where candidates require good communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, relatives and other staff groups, both by telephone and in person. We're looking for someone who is able to work under pressure, as well as provide friendly, compassionate service to patients.
Main duties of the jobNo two days are the same! The small, but friendly team, cover a large variety of roles, including, but not limited to:
- Manning incoming calls and answering email enquiries
- Accepting and processing new referrals
- Booking appointments in line with recommended guidelines
- Liaising with referrers for additional information prior to processing booking
- Liaising with patients to discuss their booking and giving relevant guidance
This post is offered as a part time secondment, 22.5 hours per week, flexible working between the hours of 08:00
-20:00 - 7 days per week.

Person Specification Education and Qualifications- GCSE in English and Maths - Grade 4 or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of Trust CARES
- Core Trust Values embedded within application/answers
- Experience in office administration
- Experience managing multiple systems
- Working independently to deadlines and targets
- High standard of literacy and numeracy
- Excellent communication skills - focusing on an MDT approach
- Organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload
- Accuracy and attention to detail
