Obstetrics Sonographer

Location: Swansea
Salary: 43,000 - 46,000 per annum
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent (In-Person)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Obstetrics Sonographer to join a growing clinical team in Swansea. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified sonographer who is passionate about providing exceptional care to expectant mothers while working within a supportive and professional environment.

You will play a key role in delivering high-quality obstetric ultrasound services, supporting patient wellbeing and contributing to positive pregnancy outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a range of obstetric ultrasound examinations.
  • Monitor fetal growth, development, and wellbeing throughout pregnancy.
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic images using advanced ultrasound equipment.
  • Explain procedures clearly and provide reassurance to patients.
  • Accurately document findings and prepare detailed reports.
  • Maintain patient records in line with professional and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate closely with obstetricians, gynaecologists, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical governance, health and safety, and infection control procedures.
  • Participate in continuing professional development activities.
Essential Requirements
  • Degree or Diploma in Diagnostic Medical Sonography with an obstetric specialism.
  • HCPC or NMC registration (or eligibility to register).
  • Registration with a recognised sonography accreditation body (or eligibility).
  • Strong knowledge of obstetric scanning techniques, fetal anatomy, and fetal development.
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills.
  • Ability to produce accurate reports and maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Minimum of 2 years' sonography experience.

  • Occasional travel to the Liverpool branch may be required for training, meetings, and professional development activities.
